For a newcomer on the Matane river, a
guide will increase the success rate and a fisherman will learn
some of the river's secret for further fishing. Also a seasoned
fisherman, who ralely fishes the Matane, will appreciate a good
guide who will know the run of salmon and make him to fish at the
right place at the right time.

Introduction to salmon fishing
The Matane river is well known to be "the school river
"... inexpensive, easy fishing, has a good run of salmon and
many pools to fish in. At the Metropole we offer an introduction
course to Atlantic Salmon fishing. The course consists of a
theoretical part concerning salmon fishing in Quebec, the river,
the fishing equipment, leaders, knots, fishing flies and fishing
techniques. The second part is practicing fishing on the Matane
river with a guide.
Cost: $160. per person
Theoritical part: 3 hours.
Fishing part: 5 hours.
Non included: Salmon fishing license, daily fishing access and transportation.
